Hello Tanya There is no such thing as a family crest (coat of arms) for a single surname. Commercial companies who try to sell such are generally to be avoided. A coat of arms is awarded to an individual person - not to a family. The arms are then owned by that individual and are normally passed down the direct male line - eg father to eldest son. There's a fairly detailed explanation here: http://www.sog.org.uk/leaflets/arms.shtml and lots of information here: http://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/ Ann From: "Tanya Joy Cominotto" <taniaj@aapt.net.au> > > Hi, I was wondering if any SKS could help me out with the meaning of the > name and the family crest? > I'm having trouble finding either. > > Tanya
