Hello Philp Thank you for reply. Yes, with hindsight I realise I should have added a little bit more info but I tried to keep it as brief and straightforward as possible. Yes, I know all about her baptism (surname Batchelour), and have researched her ancestry back to the year dot - well almost!! She married in the 1830s to Charles Champion and I have a copy of the marriage entry from the parish register in Hammersmith. Mary Anne had only one child who reached adulthood, and I have his marriage, death, and his only daughter, right up to 1900s. It is just Mary Ann herself that I haven't been able to "kill off". She could have remarried, or she could have died still with surname Champion. There is one hopeful death registration in the Farnham RD as follows: Deaths Mar 1892 Champion Mary 77 Farnham 2a 103 so I will now be following that one up as it's a near match. I just wondered if anyone here might by chance spot something I've missed in censuses, or even maybe know more of the Champions of Farnham and the nearby Hampshire parishes.
