    3. Your great grandfather? You said that you were searching to see if he still alive............but I guess that you meant at a certain time.Yorks are what the Yorkshire regiments are known as http://www.army.mod.uk/infantry/regiments/10690.aspx. You could try searching on the National Archives website to see if they have any army records for him. I think the website might be having a few problems at the moment as it will not connect when I search but try again later and I'm sure they will have fixed it. hth, Anne > Date: Tue, 23 Aug 2011 19:51:52 +0100 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [SRY] re; Occupation? > > Who would be 111? > > On Tue, Aug 23, 2011 at 6:13 PM, Roots <[email protected]> wrote: > > > So he would be at least 111 years old !!!! > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [email protected] > > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Caroline Coffey > > Sent: 23 August 2011 11:05 > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [SRY] re; Occupation? > > > > Hi I recently found marriage cert and I was looking to see if my great > > grandfather Henry Lynn was still alive, on the marriage cert it says for > > his > > occupation Yorks Fund? Was he disabled? A release date of 1916 from the War would indicate that he was - maybe the Yorks fund was a charity for disabled soldiers? I can't find any mention of it on google, though. -- Regards Dave
