This Saturday 3rd September West Surrey FHS will be holding a Members' afternoon at Trinity Church, Woking, Doors open at 1.15pm and close at 5pm. Admission is free. The Society's AGM is at 2pm. Visitors and guests who are non members cannot actively participate in the AGM however they are welcome to attend as non-participants, if joining us for the afternoon. At 3pm Dr Nick Barratt will be entertaining us with an insight behind the scenes of the TV programme "Who Do You Think You Are" for which he was involved as a researcher and advisor. Nick will also be telling us why genealogy is portrayed the way it is in the media. There will be several tables of interest including those from Surrey History Centre, The Rural Life Centre, and a collection of ephemera and databases available for lookups for burials at Farnham's group of Cemeteries. We will also have our own WSFHS Bookstall with all the CDs, microfiche and books, and other tables with information about WSFHS activities such as the Open Day (5November) and the WSFHS Computer Group.
