    3. Hi Elaine H J Dios in his "Victorian Suburb: a study of the growth of Camberwell" mentions Barkwith rd estate, in rather discouraging terms:     http://books.google.co.uk/books?ei=ybJCToHeB4G48gOg6KHjCQ&ct=result&id=t9_ZAAAAMAAJ&dq=Dyos&q=Barkworth Not sure what the little table tells us. May be worth getting the book from the library. I found it pretty solid, but it may appeal to you. There are line drawings of some of the developments, but I can't remember which ones. They were probably similar to the houses to be found, close by, in Alloa Road, SE8 or Wrigglesworth street, SE14, on Google Earth Streetview. It might be worth making enquiries at Southwark Local Studies Library www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200161/local_history_library mailto:[email protected] Regards, John ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elaine McLean" <[email protected]> Subject: [SRY] 59 Barkworth Road, Bermondsey I wonder if anyone on the list can help me. I am researching my BARBER/BATT family lines and on the 1901 Census I find abut 13 members of the family living at 59 Barkworth Road, Bermondsey. I am curious what type of house it would have been in this area. If anyone can give me some idea I would be grateful. I have tried to find a photograph of the road on the internet without success. Thank you Elaine McLean Mission, BC, Canada
