They are often a source of amusement/shock/ horror in our household and, so far, none of our forebears have been featured, although there certainly are some rum happenings in our families' histories; same for most researchers, I would imagine? If you are in the UK you could find out if your local library subscribes to the sites. ( different libraries subscribe to varying parts of the database. ) Your library card number will be how you sign in. It is free to the library card holder, the libraries pay the subscription.
