I have been lurking for quite a while and notice Chris has posted her interests and brick wall. I am hoping that someone may be able to help me with my 'brick walls' and here they are. Joseph GOWLING and wife Jane nee PEARSON both born in Westmorland but stated on the ships list that they were from Surrey before emigrating to South Australia with their nephew (my great grandfather John GOWLING) as well as their own children in 1854 aboard the Hyderabad. I also have another mystery trying to find Caroline TEAGUE married to William Steel GOWLING (the above Joseph GOWLING's brother) 08/07/1868 Lewes Sussex but need to contact Sussex list. I am looking for 1851 Census somewhere in Surrey for Joseph & Jane GOWLING and their 3 children John born 1846 Islington London, Emily Elizabeth B 1848 London and Anne born 1850 London.
