Thanks Ann. Unfortunately I had eliminated this family as they remained in Dunsfold having 8 children between 1787 and 1800. Family tradition is that 3 brothers Young came from Scotland in the mid-18thC and settled in Surrey / Sussex but I can find nothing to support this. Certainly some of my other family traditions relating to the 19thC are mostly incorrect with sometimes a grain of truth. For example, my ggf emigrated to Canada around 1860 supposedly with 3 brothers; he did have 3 brothers but they all stayed in England! It is possible that he emigrated with one or more cousins though.
