    3. Bill, I am assuming this is a UK birth certificate. U.D. means Urban District which is normally a local government administrative area. No disrespect here, but I couldn't help but note your spelling of Worcestershire. Is the way in which you wrote it correct, or have you put up the phonetic equivalent?
