    3. Hi Nivard, Admission and discharge registers for the Lambeth workhouse for the pre-1834 period are at LMA, catalogued with the parish records for St Mary Lambeth (P85/MRY1). They aren't online yet. Ancestry's records are mostly later, and relate to the poor law unions that were established after 1834. Baptisms in the Lambeth workhouse at these earlier dates should have been recorded in the Lambeth parish register. HTH (though I'm afraid it doesn't much) Judy London, UK -----Original Message----- From: eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Nivard Ovington Hi all Memory fails me Are the workhouse records for Lambeth Workhouse anywhere online I seem to recall the National Archives having some poor law and workhouse records but since they have made their site *easier* I can't find a thing on there (if their aim was to cut traffic down on their site its working as I find its pointless going there these days) I have checked Ancestry and just wondered if anyone knew of any anywhere I am seeking births/baptisms and burials for Anthony & Sarah FORMIGINI whose children were John Formigini 1784 - Joseph Formigini 1785 - 1799 Elizabeth Formigini 1788 - 1799 Mary Ann Fleming 1791 - 1860 The only one I can find is the Mary Ann who was baptised at St Mary Lambeth in 1791, no sign of the others I am informed that they were born and died in the Lambeth Workhouse (bar Mary) -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

    3. Hi Judy Thanks for that, at least I am not going around the twist Like you I would have expected the baptisms at least to be recorded I would have expected to find some trace of them but have failed so far I will have to contact the person with the information in their tree to see how they came by it Thanks again Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 18/10/2012 00:18, Judy Lester wrote: > Hi Nivard, > > Admission and discharge registers for the Lambeth workhouse for the > pre-1834 period are at LMA, catalogued with the parish records for St > Mary Lambeth (P85/MRY1).
