Dear Chris So pleased to receive your reply. Yes I am aware of the Brasss Memorial in the Parish of Farndish and have visited the church and photographed it and visit the church when we travel to England. John was the Rector from 1571 until his death in 1625 but the parish registers are only available from 1587. Fortunately he was married twice and his second family are all recorded in the registers. Based on his record at Magdalen College and their Archivist he was more likely born about 1537 but still a great age at his death. Tobias is my stumbling block as I am unable to find his birth, clarify his marriage/s and locate the birth of his son and heir John. I love the photos of the church on their website and it is just as appealing when visitng. Thank you for your assistance. Dear Anne is it possible that Elizabeth went back to mum in North Crawley for Tobias' birth? It seems that the records exist for the period you consider likely. (It seems that you have seen the two pages of Boyd's London Inhabitants). These sheets give little hint of the Surrey connection. Have you found the Surrey Visitation mentioned on Tobias' sheet? I wonder if there is anything to be found in the records of such as the Merchant Taylors.
