This is a gentle reminder that personal advertising of goods and services and/or commercial advertising is not generally permitted on the List. There are, however, some acceptable forms of advertising so if you wish to advertise goods, services, or events, it is always best to first run the idea past the Administrator the List, privately, not least as a matter of courtesy and most importantly to make sure the mailing will be within the Rootsweb acceptable use policy, as well as being within the guidelines for the particular forum/list. I will always be very happy to advise on such matters privately off list . Ann Surrey Admin

Might that be somewhere else or coming in a future project? > I also notice that the index doesn't tell you where to look for that > person so that you can tie that name to a place. > Am I missing something? Bill The tithe maps and apportionments records for other parts of Surrey are held at Surrey History Centre but not included in the current project CD/DVD releases. SHC's online catalogue confirms Croydon is amongst those held. Whether or not the metropolitan parishes of Surrey and Croydon will eventually be available in similar fashion is not specified at present. There is much useful background information on the SHC site. There are detailed indexes of names included in the parishes already transcribed, free to view online: http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/sccwebsite/sccwspages.nsf/LookupWebPagesByTITLE_RTF/Surrey+tithe+records+CDs+and+DVDs?opendocument where you need to scroll to the end of the page and then click on the alph links.
