Hi, I remember reading a book a few months ago about the historical patterns people used to name their children (in the 1800's and prior). It was something like the oldest son's first name was the father's first name and his middle name was his mother's maiden name and the oldest daughter took the mother's first name and her middle name was her grandmother's first name (or something like this)...etc. Would anyone have any information on this. I am trying to figure out what the possible parents are of some of my great grandparents and I want to see if their children's names can help me solve the mystery. Thanks...
