Greetings....from Canada I would like to pick your brains: What would be the best way of getting this information (several thousand individual names) onto a home page in sortable spreadsheet format? I have no experience in this, but i am willing to learn. I would like the information to be usable as county- by county spreadsheets so that people could sort for (example) all Corkes in one town, or, by mother's name. I do not want to go to a one-name study genealogical society, as it costs money, and I want the information to be freely given. for a couple of years I have been collecting CORK/CORKEs of England by county, from 1500 to 1900. My resources are many and varied: IGI, free BMD, St. Cath's indices, any parish registers which have been placed on the internet etc, etc. I understand that there will have been an "oops!" factor in copying that which has been copied but I can assure you that I have been very careful, myself, to do an accurate job. All my work is on spreadsheet. the data headings are: surname (variants) source (incomplete) given names life event date code ( for sorting purposes) town, village, district county birth date (written form) christening date (written form) mother's name father's name marriage date (written form) spouse's name place of marriage name code ( for sorting purposes) notes: incl. death date if available, and place of death, burial addresses in some cases Is there anyone out there who could give me a push in the right direction? many thanks dianne Corke In Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
