Just posting my surname interests. I have nothing further back than 1871 . Thomas ROGERS son of Samuel Rogers, and Anne COU??FEILD Thomas married to Margaret WALPOLE 1890, Bradford ,Yorkshire, Having 5 children in England up to 1901, then moving to Canada, Saskatchewan or Ontario( not sure which one first.) 5 more children were born in Canada. Infant,Samuel, Francis Ellen(nellie), Dorothy(doris) Winnefred, John Edward 1901, In Canada, Ivy, Clara, Frank, Alice. John Edward ROGERS married Lizzie TOMKINS, born Bradford Yorkshire, 1901 to Arthur John TOMKINS,and Louisa BALLENGER, Louisa born 1871. These last four are all buried in a small cemetary in Ontario, and the third generation is there also. I'm not sure yet if these families knew each other in England, or if they met in Canada, but with both John and Lizzie being born within months of each other , in the same town, and then marrying, I wonder. I am told of "Gentleman Jim" TOMKINS helping people with his hospitality during wartimes, but I have no further on that. I am also given a "story" of Margaret WALPOLE being descended from Sir Robert Walpole. The authenicity of this "story" is unsure. If anyone else is researching this line, drop me a note.
