    3. Searching for Thomas HYLDRETH later spelling Hildreth who died in Southampton, Suffolk County, NY in 1657. There are several dates used for him on the net, most from Gainford which cannot be documented. In fact, there is one more male with the name buried there than christened there! There is also a reference to one Thos. HYLDRETH, father of an illegitmate child in 1633 without any trace of the same spelling for the adult male. This child lived only a few days and was buried in Gainford. The Hildreth name had migrated from NE England to several other areas of England by the early 1600s, London among them. Any information will be most appreciated and any others engaged in a similar search will be welcomed to reply.
