Dear fellow researchers, I am, for obvious reasons - including friendly pressure from relations in Australia, CANADA and USA - seeking the origins of the Yarwood family, especially that branch of the Yarwoods who lived in Birmingham, Warwicks, England and in neighbouring Worcestershire between 1750 and 1997. I have a lot of data on them and other Yarwood in this country and abroad. I have made good progress back to the mid 18th Century but am still looking for the origins of John Yarwoods family of Birmingham. William Yarwood in particular. The family is well established in Cheshire and there seem to be connections to the Holte Family of Aston, Birmingham and Brereton, Cheshire but I have been unable to make the leap. Anyone interested in or with data about the Yarwoods who would be willing to exchange please get in touch. Colin Yarwood
Hope someone can help.... I am researching the BARRELL family but can find little in the way of information and resources. My particular interest is in tracing the heritage of my grt grandmother... Nellie BARRELL. Nellie was born in 1888 or 89 and married Ernest James RICKARD of Wingrave, Buckinghamshire in September 1909. This paucity of information has come down in family records and is by no means certain. It is thought that Nellie came from Coulsdon in Surrey but again we are not sure. Her marriage could have been in Bucks or Surrey. Anyway... anything on any BARRELLs gratefully recieved. Regards Mark Kirby mark.kirbys@btinternet.com
Hello, I am looking for my great grandparents. Edward HABGOOD (b. abt 1864) and Ellen ALDER (b. abt 1860) in England. Since I do not know their birthplace (that is what I am trying to get from this look up request), would it be possible for someone to look in the VRI for either of these names and email me a list of all names in the index. If there are too many, just let me know and I will try to narrow it further if I can. I know that both Edward and Ellen emigrated to Canada about 1890...I think that they married in England, though. Hello Listers, I am trying to contact other descendants of John HAYWARD and Margaret WILLIAMS. John was born in Turton, Lancs. c.1793 and Margaret was born in Liverpool c.1803. They were married in Liverpool on 7 April 1825 and settled in Macclesfield, E. Cheshire. Five of their children came to New Zealand. Three of their sons remained in England and raised families. They were : > Frederick William HAYWARD, born 1826, married Margaret MARS and lived in Carlisle, > John Williams HAYWARD, born c.1830, married Elizabeth Jane DAVEY, a doctor of Liverpool, > George Goddard HAYWARD, born c.1832, married Mary Ann CLARK, also lived in Carlisle. I would be delighted to hear from any other descendants. Don HAYWARD at Auckland, New Zealand.
