    2. Jacky Ridley
    3. Hi all - I wonder if sks could provide any info on either Stephen Newell or his wife Mary Boxall. They were married in Jan. 1861 in Trotton Sussex. Subsequently they must have moved around Sussex including Brighton where several of their children were born (including my grandfather Henry). The 1881 census lists them as living at 18 Arnaud Street, Portsmouth. Mary is listed as a Seamans wife. Are there any records I could search online for marriages, births etc. in Sussex?? I've tried the LDS family search boards and the free BMD. Any help much appreciated.     1. [ENG-SURNAMES] WHEATLEY, Yorks; PENTLAND N Ireland, Oldam and Birmingham; COLLINS Birmingham;
    2. Colin Yarwood
    3. Dear List, I am looking for these three families: WHEATLEY, Yorks; This family seem to have some connection with the earliest years of Harewood House, rumoured to have been at one stage 'very close'. The family farmed and lived in the villages around Harewood and Malton in Yorkshire in the 18th and 19th Century. Part moved I the mid to late 19th century to Bradford. PENTLAND N Ireland, Oldham and Birmingham; This family - head Joseph George PENTLAND - are understood to have come across from Ireland to Oldham where he was in the newspaper / printing business in the mid to late 19th century. He had a brother, or son? who was an England footballer and who was rumoured to have gone to start Athletico Bilboa. JGP went on to be a leading light in Birmingham Council politics and formed Pentlands Royal Robbins, an organisation which took hundreds of children for a day out to Little Aston Park in summertime in the last years of the 19th and early years of the 20th Century. Another member of the family lived in Wembly London in the 1950s. At one time the family lived in Emmerson Road, Harborne, Birmingham. COLLINS Birmingham; This is a catholic family - James Allouisious COLLINS born circa married Honora Mary COX in Birmingham / Sutton(?) in the last years of the 19th or early 20th Century. They had a daughter Dora Mary COLLINS in circa 1914 and at that time lived in Selly Oak / Selly Park Birmingham. They were bombed out during WWII and moved to a prefab in Stirchley. If any kind souls could look for them on censuses or w.h.y. or offer suggestions where I could find more on them I would be very grateful Colin Y
