Hello All, I understand that all the GREENs are related in some way. I went through my files and have been able to connect the other GREENs. Except one. I hope somone can help me. Francis Green (e) b 1796 Woolwich, England (sp) Joseph Wright b. 1785 Desertmartin, England They also died in England. They had a son, Thomas Henry Wright b. 1818 in England, but died 1881 in Salt Lake City, Utah. I don't know who Thomas traveled with or if he came to America alone. Dear all I recently came upon the word 'lonnon' in a story book. It was a north country word for a ditch or a dyke. I have been curious for many years about the origin of the surname, and most info seems to claim that it is evolved from the scottish Clan McLennon. Any ideas or theories about this??? Cheers Wendy Lonnon
Please be advised as of November 22nd, 2001 our new email address will be: irvine@rogers.com Take care, Isabel and Stu

HI Wynne I am originally from London my ancestors from Lincolnshire I have been able to trace back to 1254AD what names are you researching. regards David Asman
Hi Listers, Someone has been kind enough to send me an e-mail in the past few minutes but for some reason or another my computer has deleted it before I could open it. Could you please re-send. Thank you, David.
Dear Wynne, Sorry, forgot my manners, apologies to list owner, we live in southern England, Southampton to be exact. We have looked at the site briefly,it will be most useful. If at any time we can be of assistance to you, we're always on list, so give us a shout. Regards, David and Janice
Dear Wynne, Thanks for the info - I think we have the same weather - the trees have only just started to drop their leaves but a cold spell has been forecast for the latter part of this month. Many regards, David
Hello Listers, I am researching the mystery of the lost colonialists of Roanoke Island - 1590. 116 men, women and children disappeared without trace. I am wondering whether any of you can claim ancestral connections with any of these unfortunates. Many regards, David Asman
Hello List: I am relisting my surnames: I sure would like to find some "cousins". OLIVER - London and Colchester, Essex. QUILTER - Little Waltham, Essex. KING - Ramsgate, Kent. HAYWARD - Ashford, Kent. PERKINS - Woodham Ferrers, Essex. SHUTTLEWOOD - Woodham Ferrers, Essex. My KING line goes back to the 1500s in RAMSGATE. It is the OLIVER line which I would like to trace now. This is my paternal line and I am stuck on the 3rd generation. WILLIAM OLIVER (1847) son of WILLIAM Oliver(1818) son of FREDERICK or FRANCIS OLIVER of London. Regards Wynne from Calgary
Hi Dave from Southampton. My research takes me to KENT, ESSEX and LONDON. Been to England only once, in 1998. Planned on returning in 2002, but now I don't know. Thanks for the conversation. Hope this site keeps "talking". Wynne from Calgary
Hi Dorothy: As I am from Canada, and the west, I had never heard of the Roanoke Island Colony before. Now, of course, I would like to learn more, not that any of my ancestors were there, but just general interest. Do you remember what network the show was on or was it a movie? Wynne
Hi Dave: The site is quite good. All the names of all the colonists are there, plus more. We lost all our leaves at least 3 weeks ago, but the weather is abnormally mild. Normal is just around the freezing mark. By the way, what town and country are you in? Wynne
Here is the site for the ROANOKE ISLAND COLONISTS. http://www.nps.gov/fora/colonist.htm Wynne Calgary, AB.Can. Feels like spring. No snow.
