    1. [ENG-SURNAMES] Gidley (Amended post)
    2. I posted yesterday that I am trying to obtain family history information relating to Edwin and Mary (May) Ann Gidley.  I indicated that they evidently emigrated from England to the US in 1875, and that Edwin was born in 1838 and that Mary was born in 1836.  At the time of the original post, I did not have Mary's maiden name. I have since found out that her maiden name was Hayman, and that she was born Nov. 11, 1836. She was the daughter of Mary and Benjamin Hayman. Again, they had five children when they left England:  John (born c 1860), Samuel (born 1862), Elizabeth (born c 1864), Richard (born c 1866), and George (born c 1869).  Any information or advice concerning how to find out where in England they were living and how to obtain marriage and birth registration information is greatly appreciated. John Fuester
