Hello List I am looking for Aunts, Uncles, and cousins of my late Mother Polly Billington who lived in Shelton New Road until her marriage in 1929. Her father Richard Forrester Billington died in 1931 after which her mother Fanny kept house for her son Richard Francis until she died in 1949. Richard Francis then married his cousin and died in 1972 after which his wife sold the house and returned to London. These are the four children who remained in the Potteries out of the six born to Richard Billington and Mary Forrester. I have no doubt that some of their descendants still live in the Potteries and I would love to contact them Jim Rushton . Dear Jim, I just caught sight of your mention of Shepherd. I have only recently discovered my connection with Shepherd. I have an Alice Ann who married Cain Mayer, but her family came from Whittington in Derbyshire and several of them came to the Potteries before 1881. There is a John and his family, Henry, their families. In the 1891 census there is an Alice, a scholar, whose father was William Shepherd. They came from Surrey. I do not think that these are my Shepherds and there is a Charles Shepherd a commercial traveller who is supposed to come from London, but it is crossed out. Hope this helps if you do not have a connection with my Mayer/Shepherds.
