A 2.45 p.m. today we completed scanning under licence from the P.R.O 34 Films for Staffordshire - over 37,000 JPEG images are now safely installed on 9 CDs. In 1851 the city folk liked to hire country youngsters as servants so many Staffordshire children found there way to Dudley, Worcestershire to work in service, for that reason we include at no cost a copy of the CD for Dudley in 2 of our CD offers. Staffordshire now joins Somerset, Bristol, Shropshire & Worcestershire in our 1851 Census Scans - coming up will be Birmingham and because it is part of 3 counties will we adapt the production to meet specific requests. Work on Birmingham will begin in Mid May - in the meantime to keep us out of trouble we will start Wiltshire because we have the film on hand but only on a time available basis.
