You could email them and ask them if ther4e is anything in the person index They should also be able to advise if Harold was Mayor of Hanley - Lots of yorkshire potters ended up in Stoke-on Trent, it was progressing to a higher level. A typical "promotion" type path was Rotherham/Campsall/Wath Area to Leeds Pottery then onto the big Potts in Stoke . Some of my own family came that route try starting here http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/live/welcome.asp?id=201 Steve On 09 May 2003 14:59, Christine Page [SMTP:[email protected]] wrote: > Hi > > This is my first posting to this list. > > I have a family of Naylor's originally from Yorkshire who went to > Staffordshire and I understand one of them worked in the Wedgewood Pottery as > the head thrower. > > His name was John Henry Naylor b 1859 died 1932, he married a Hannah Morley > and they had 3 children Harold, Bella and Mary b 1880. > I believe that Harold was Lord Mayor of Hanley at one stage. > > Does anyone know where I could find out more about John Henry? > > Any information would be greatly appreciated. > > TIA > > Chris Page Perth West Oz > > > > > > ==== ENG-STS-THE-POTTERIES Mailing List ==== > The List for the Pottery Towns of the Ancient County of Staffordshire ==== ENG-STS-THE-POTTERIES Mailing List ==== The List for the Pottery Towns of the Ancient County of Staffordshire --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
