I have a Catherine Minnie WILDIN Born June Qtr. 1873 Stoke. (Freebmd) On her marriage certificate it states her Father was William Henry WILDIN I am unable to find either of them on the 1881 census on familysearch. There are a total of 99 WILDIN'S in the whole of the U.K. in 1881 with that exact spelling. 13 of them are in Staffordshire but neither of them are amongst them. I think there must be an error somewhere. Has anyone any idea of where I go next? I am trying to find any other family members. Searching all spellings of the name doesn't find them either. Someone on this list very kindly found William H. WILDIN for me on the 1891 census, but as he was in the workhouse there was no sign of Catherine Minnie. When she married in 1874, she was living with the family of Charles LEESE who she married. Hope someone can help. Dear Jeanne, don't know if I have been in touch with you before, sorry it is not regarding Wildin, but my maiden name is Mayer and was wondering if you Mayer surname came from the Potteries?
