My ancestor, George HOOD was in business in Tunstall as an earthenware manufacturer from about 1822. He built Highgate Pottery, Brownhills, in 1831 and took over Walton's figure and toy factory in Navigation Road, Burslem, in 1835. First married an Emma ____probably abt. 1819/1820, m. 2nd Susannah WALTON, 3rd Ann (possibly BEECH) I am trying to find the marriage record for George and Emma. Their daughter Sarah was b. abt 1821/1822 in Tunstall. This is George on 1841 census Liverpool Road George HOOD 45 Ann HOOD 25- 3rd wife Sarah HOOD 19 - my ancestor Ann HOOD 16 George HOOD 14 -son of George and Emma bapt. St. John's Burslem Ralph HOOD 6 Emma HOOD 1 I think that George and Emma may have married at St. John's but those records dont seem to be available through the BMD site. Are there records earlier than 1837 for St John's? Also looking for any other information on George HOOD.
