Hi All, There has been a major server failure at Rootsweb, as most of you know different lists use different servers to process the mailings. This has led to lists such as Polly's Midmarch, My Black Country, Potteries etc having no problems, but lists such as my Staffordshire, Sheila's Isle of Axholme etc going offline. Please DON'T keep sending test messages to the affected lists, all that this is doing is adding to the problem of backed up mail. Advice now given by Rootsweb is that the afected lists will gradually come back on-line by Monday. Most posts have been queued for delivery over the next two days, but if you've posted a mail, and not seen it by Wednesday evening GMT (not your local times) repost. Some of you may have been or are about to be auto-unsubbed from the affected lists, wait for the problems to die down and then resub. Don't expect to see your mails show up in the List Archive as quickly as usual, there will be a delay. I personally now have a backlog of over 220 mails that have been sent to me asking what is happening. With the best will in the World I'll never get around to answering them. This mail should have answered most of your questions, if not, please give it a few days before you ask again. FYI the Lists affected all use what is known as Lists2 on Rootsweb, you may see this in headers that are sent with List posts.
