    3. as a new subscriber to the list, I am posting my interests. MY family were KINSEYs. I come from a line of JOSEPH KINSEYs going back to JOSEPH KINSEY, brickmaker, married to MARY with children born in INGESTRE and SANDON. JOSEPH KINSEY (2), their son, also a brickmaker, married JANE WILSHAW in STONE in 1811. They had children called Elizabeth, Mary, Fanny and JOSEPH, who all married in Stafford. Jane came from CAVERSWALL. Both Joseph and Mary died in LITTLE STOKE near STONE ( 1817 and 1818) Joseph (3) was a shoemaker, married MARY PODMORE daughter of Francis PODMORE and Rachel SNAPE in Stafford and settled in SANDON. Their son JOSEPH (4) was a shoe manufacturer and lived in STAFFORD and married MARTHA MAYER, daughter of JOSEPH MAYER and MARY CORBISHLEY in STONE in 1867. Their son, JOSEPH (5) was my grandfather. The CORBISHLEYS came from ENDON between STOKE and LEEK. Some of the MAYER family ended up near AUDLEY. Both families were farmers. Does anyone connect with these? Anne Peat ( nee Kinsey )

    3. Dear Anne, There is both a Mayer and Mellor connection in my family. The Mayers from my father's side, and Mellor from my mother's side. The Mayers I have originated from Tunstall and Norton, but had very large families and ofcourse it is possible that they moved away from that area, particularly the female members. I have a Josiah who married a Martha in 1840 and one of their daughters was a Martha b 1868, I realise not the one you are talking about, but you never know there may be a connection. The Mellor side is connected to my Parr family. Sarah Mellor married John Parr in 1851 in Burslem. The connections between the two families seems to have been long standing according to the parish registers. Hope there may be a link Best wishes Ann Simcock ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anne Peat" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 08, 2003 2:45 PM Subject: [Pots] Interests: KINSEY, PODMORE, MAYER, CORBISHLEY, WILSHAW, MELLOR, SNAPE, SANDBATCH > as a new subscriber to the list, I am posting my interests. > MY family were KINSEYs.
