Hello everyone I'm hoping that someone can help me. Am researching my Turner Family they were Josiah & Ann Turner and lived at 30 Victoria St. in Stoke. Josiah was a master house painter. They were a large family of 14 children. The first six were born in St. Helens in Lancashire and the other 8 were all born at the Victoria St. home. Today I got new infor on some of the family members and am wondering how or where to go from here on it. In the stuff I received there is a picture of a soldier and it says on it Private J. Turner well it rules out the father Josiah due to age but could be his son also a Josiah or a son John question is how do I find out?? All that is marked on it is Kings Shropshire Light Infantry an address of I Company, 10 Hut Killworth Camp, County Cork Ireland and a number 16005. Also there was a funeral notice in the stuff for a Corporal Walter William Turner 17 Gate St. Hanley who died of wounds in France on 12 april 1918. His memorial service wa! s held at Northwood Church on 5 May 1918. He was married to a Hannah Turner. Several years before they had a son Harold Turner who died at age 1 and is buried in Burslem this child was born n April 1905 and died 23 Sept 1906 listed as their home then was 43 Hanover ST Burslem. So I would like to be able to trace Hannah to see if there were any other children and possibly relatives not out there someplace. Next there is a receipt for a burial from the Fenton Parish Church for 18 pounds to inter a Hannah Willshaw lived on Denbigh St. she was put into grave #193 this is dated March 19, 1889 I have no clue who she is and would like to find out and where this cemetery is??? All the Turner family was my Grandmothers family. So these above would be her brothers. Also looking for the family of her older sister's husband that being David and Mary Whittingham they lived at Vicarage Cottage in Wolstanton. David died April 17, 1907 and Mary died Dec 11, 1906 their funeral was he! ld at St. Margarets Church inWolstanton. Also do any of you know of the Marsh Buildings in Wolstanton is it an apartment complex or what? That is also coming into play with the Whittighams. Am looking for anyone related to a Charles Pownall living at that address he was a stepson of the Whittinghams we believe. He was also in the 2nd Battalion Reg of Rifle Brigade enlisted in Nov 1867 and discharged in Nov 1879. My mind is spinning with getting all of this today but need some direction on where to go from here with it all. Many thanks to all of you I know you will give me some clues! With thanks, Margie
