Dear All, I'm looking for any ideas, or concrete information, of course, about how to find out my ggggreat-grandmother Elizabeth BARTON. According to the „International Genealogical Index“ website, she was baptized on Feb 17, 1794 (All Saints, West Bromwich, Stafford). Eight brothers and sisters of hers were baptized there as well between Nov 6, 1785, and April 14, 1800. In all cases the parents are given as „James BARTON“ and „Sarah“. The Staffordshire archives told me the originals of the West Bromwich All Saints registers are held at Sandwell Archives, Smethwick Library, Smethwick. Elizabeth BARTON and John James KENT were married on Feb 4, 1815, in Newcastle-under-Lyme. I was also told there was no obvious short cut to finding this marriage, and it might be easier to use the Staffordshire Marriage Index. Thanks a lot for any hint. Phillip Minden
