Looking for family information on Ruth LAMB, b.May 6 1853 in Kingswinford or Brierley Hill, Staffs. Our earliest sighting is from the 1881 Census: Ruth M LAMB age 28, dressmaker in Shrewsbury St Chad, Shrops. She emigrated to Victoria BC Canada about 1896, crossing from Liverpool on the ss Scotsman. We have her travel box marked with the name of the ship. In the 1901 Census of Victoria she owns a house and is living on her own means. Her wedding record (m.Frank Colley, Nov.1901) gives her parents as James & Mary Lamb. The death record (1939) shows James Lamb and Emily Barnes as parents. Thank you - this is a most interesting list to follow. Elaine Polglase
