Hi, I wrote a while ago asking for assistance with the family names of Brough and Waterhouse. I had some really good advice from the forum, and I wish to ask for some more help with relation to the information I have found out and if anyone has history of these names. This would be my Great Grandfathers Family on my Fathers side. In the 1881 census I found John Brough born 1857, Living in North Road Burslem, stoke-on-Trent. Living with Sarah Brough ( I presume his wife) Age 20 and a Harriet Brough age 2 months. In the 1901 census, this accumulated into: John & Sarah Brough Now living in Macclesfield Street John aged 44 Sarah aged 41 Harriet appears again age 20, also Eliza aged 19 Joseph aged 14 Harry aged 17 Gertrude aged 8 Ada aged 4 Albert E. aged 2 and Ethel V aged 2 My grandfather appeared after this lot and was born in 1904 (John (AKA Jack) Brough Other records show that John Brough died 11th July 1937 aged 80 years and Sarah died 23rd Jan 1934 aged 73 years. It is reported also that the address when she passed away was Newport street. do not know the district. If any one could shed some more light on this elusive family or any ties to it I would be most obliged. Many thanks in anticipation. David Brough Eng.Tech. AMIIE (elec.)
