My 3rd Great Grandfather was James Oliver (b. 1815 Hanley). He had at least 3 children, including Emma, my GGG'mother (b. 1845 Hanley). Emma's brother (first name not yet known) emigrated, also to Trenton NJ. According to my G'father, he married Hannah (surname unknown, b. 1857) "on the day they emigrated". I've looked in IGI, FreeBMD anmd StaffsBMD and found a possible marriage in Plymouth, but I don't know how likely this is due to residency regulations. There's no-one suitable on the ISTG site yet. I know that the Olivers were in Trenton by 1882 as the 1910 US census show their eldest Charles born in NJ, but they aren't in the 1880 census. I do know a bit more about their children from the 1910 census (Mr. Oliver was not on it, presumed deceased) and from information from my late Grandfather. Any help or advice on where else to look appreciated. BTW are there any web sites detailing why Potters emigrated to Trenton? BW Andy.
