    3. i feel i must add comment to this discussion. I bought these c.d.s as soon as they were released and a long time later found that one would not reproduce anything on my screen. I contacted him and the following day received a reply with instructions on how to rectify the problem and a note saying that in case this was not possible he was replacing the faulty disc. To add to this when i originally bought them my method of payment didn't work and he allowed me to send a cheque drawn on a British bank account although and he sent the discs without prior payment. The cheque was cash at least a month after i received the discs andbefore my problem All i can think is that some folk may have gone in all guns blaring and not calm and rational as this approach always works for me. 3. Janet I didn't go in all guns blaring. I merely asked him if he knew if the missing folios were lurking somewhere I couldn't find them. Unfortunately, the one lot he did check were there, and I admit I had missed them, but on my CD he had transposed two critical pages with the relevant Folio numbers, so I had missed them. He said he hadn't time to go on a wild goose chase to look for the others, but did send me a copy of a single missing page I had told him about. Fair enough, I thought, maybe I missed the other folios too. So I spent all of yesterday morning going through Piece 2008 page by page and also checking on the ED number. I still couldn't find the other batches, and also spent considerable time on PROCAT to see if I could work out which villages were missing. By this time I had quite a headache!! I think I found the relevant details, so sent the information to Gordon so that he wouldn't have to go off on a wild goose chase. I was surprised to get an immediate reply as it was about 4.30am in Canada. All I wanted and expected was a quick note to say thanks for pointing out the errors, and that he hadn't time to look into it at the moment, but would get back to me later, even if it took a couple of weeks. Instead, he basically said it was my problem, not his, and I could have my money back, and that he couldn't gaurantee perfection. The total of the missing pages came to about 8% of the total for that piece, which to me is too large an error. This is only one piece, and I only noticed the errors because I was looking for someone that I had the details of from the surnames index and couldn't find the pages. If I didn't know they should be there I wouldn't know they were missing. It was at that point that I felt a bit ****** so I wrote a reply, which is still in my drafts folder, and decided to see if anyone else had had any problems. I think, if the CD is actually faulty, then Gordon does put things right, but is not willing to look into any issues concerning the *content* of the CD. Now, 24 hours later, and after a night's sleep, which is probably what Gordon needed, I think I may have been a bit harsh on him. I think I'll just chalk it up to experience. Time to close this thread.
