Hi Babs, Yes, Maer and Meir Heath are two separate places. Maer is situated just off the A53 between Newcastle-under-Lyme and Market Drayton. Meir Heath is on the A 520 between Blythe Bridge and Stone. Hi Jean, Many thanks for your quick reply and info. I think Meir Heath must be the place i'm after (even tho' it was spelt Maer Heath on a census), as it's further north. Would it be possible for SKS who has access to 1841/51 census' help me find details of John WILCOX b. abt 1827/30 Meir Heath, Staffs. Occ. Cotton Spinner. Father John...mother Elizabeth who, on the IGI were married at Maer, Stafford on 20 Jan 1827. I would be grateful for any replies.
