    1. Re: [Pots] alton and rocester
    2. Hi Jess. I don't do much on the family tree these days but my x6 great aunt was Prudence RATCLIFFE, the daughter of James Ratcliffe and Mary. Her sister was called Lydia Ratcliffe who is my x5 Great Grandmother. Lydia married Robert Barlow in 1788 at newcastle but they lived at Alton. Sister Purdence married Thomas clay at Alton in 1787. I suspect james Ratcliffe is the son of James ratcliffe and Elizabeth (also Ratcliffe) who married at Checkley in 1717. Thomas CLAY and Prudence RATCLIFFE had quite a large family, some of their daughters married into the TURNER and CARR families.
