    3. A request - please is someone able to check the 1851 census for Leek & Lowe, 11/121/Belle Vue and tell me what family this John Longden has. The 2% sample of the 1851 shows him as 'W' with a son John aged 9. Father and son fit my family for age and birthplace, except that in 1841 and 1861 mine had a wife Ann born in Ireland. Alternatively, is there an index to the 1851 which might show if there were two matching father and son John Longdens in Leek? I would be most grateful for any assistance. Best regards to all Alan

    3. Good morning Cameron Thank you very much for the info. And yes, please, I would be glad to have an e-mail copy. It looks as though his wife must still have been in Macclesfield, but his son Thomas was born in Leek in 1851 so perhaps she was just about to join him. Maybe she will appear on the Cheshire 1851. I don't know whether I dare ask, but if the index is easily searchable, could you ask it for George HUXLEY who I have in Knutton or Silverdale from 1861 onwards (he was born in Wrenbury parish, Cheshire c. 1830). If I can be of any help, I have the Shropshire 1841 and 1851 and the Cheshire 1841 censuses and would be happy to do look-ups for you. All best wishes Alan
