My research has brought me to Staffordshire, having discovered from the 1861 census at 1837online that one of the three Samuel COOPERs born in 1860 in Macclesfield was living in Tunstall. According to the birth certificate he was born 18th February, 1860, son of Joshua COOPER (labourer) and Isabella HENSHALL. Samuel's marriage certificate to Maragaret BLANSHARD on Sept. 7th 1885 in the parish of Fallowfield states his father as being Cannon COOPER deceased. I cannot find a 'Cannon' anywhere so surmise that this could have been a nickname of some sort. My question is does anyone connect with this family?....according to the 1881 census the other children were: William, Ellen, John, Sarah Jane, Joshua, Emily and Thomas, all born in Tunstall. If anyone has access to the 1891 census could they check if Joshua is still living then. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
