    3. Hi Lucy SS Mary & Chad as a parish was formed 1899 from parts of Caverswall & Longton St James's parishes. Bapt records start in 1888, when it was St Chad's Mission Church. The actual current building dates back to 1897. Marriages start 1899. Stafford Record Office have the registers, and Hanley almost certainly have them on fiches. NB I have a list of marriages to 1937, if this is of use. Early English style, with aisled and clerestoried nave of 4 bays and a chancel flanked by side chapels. It has 2 bells. Low extension consisting of 2 porches and a baptistery dating from 1910. Large school hall with modern extension lies to ots north. Curate's house in Anchor Rd. This is from A History of Longton, from the Victoria History of the County of Stafford.
