Hi List Could anyone tell me where this asylum was in 1841? I have Henry SHAW, christened Wolstanton April 1841, born to Martha and William SHAW. There is a Martha SHAW in this asylum at the time of the 1841 Census. What are the possibilities of this child being born there? Thanks Lorna. Sydney

It would appear that the Staffordshire County Asylum in 1841 was at Stafford, http://www.institutions.org.uk/asylums/england/sts/stafford_county_asylum.htm although as children we always thought it was at Cheddleton! Hope this doesn't confuse you!! Keith
