Evening listers. Would anyone have an 1841 census for Staffordshire. Trying to piece together the first wife and children of CLEMENT GWYNNE. Born Radnorshire in 1806. Know that he married in 1838 Registered Uttoxeter but to whom??? Think he was probably in Leek by 1844. Married again in 1850. Any help would be appreciated. Pam
Hi, This is my time on this list. I am looking for George GREATBATCH, b 1813 in Staffs, England and died 1878 in Sorell, Tasmania, Australia. He was a convict. He married Elizabeth MURPHY (1833-1878) in 1851 at Spring Bay, Tasmania, Australia. He was brought to Tasmania as a convict. There are plenty of Greatbatches in Staffs but as yet I aven't been able to connect them to George. Thank you Christine Cook
I am I looking for anyone who might be researching the above names. I have a Selina Ollerenshaw b 1848 abt in Jamaica. Married Charles Vigrass in Leek 1871. Her father was a Peter Ollerenshaw, builder. Why was Peter Ollerenshaw in Jamaica in 1848 ?? If she was born a British subject (1881 census says BS) who she be registered in England as well as Jamaica ?? Would Peter have his wife with him if he was in the army at this time ?? Did Peter marry a Jamaican lady, is Selina a name that is common in Jamaica. So many questions, I just hope somebody could answer some of them. Thanks in advance Helen
