Dear Listers Is SKS able to help me with finding out who was living at 236 Southampton Rd, Eastleigh c1904. This is the address that was given on the death certificate of my great great grandmother, Elizabeth DRAKE, when she died there 10 May 1904. I can not think of a reason why she would be living in this area. Elizabeth was born at Weymouth, Dorset and lived there and then on Portland till at least 1895. Her husband died at Portland in 1886. The informant on Elizabeth's death certificate was her daughter who was present at the death and her address is given as Royal Albert Docks, London. On the 1901 census, Elizabeth aged 85 years is living with a son in London and 236 Southampton Rd, Eastleigh is shown as uninhabited. I also have a postcard that was written by a grandson of Elizabeth and this was sent from "Roydon" Southampton on the 13 Feb 1914. He was from New Zealand and on leave, during World War 1. He writes about going down to Weymouth and Portland but does not say who he is staying with at Southampton. It makes me think that there are relations still in this area and I can't work out who they could be. Are there any directories or electoral rolls for the period that would help me?
