Good afternoon, My name is Norman Full ( descended from the Fulls of Devon). I live in Sydney, Australia & I am currently researching my wife's family, the Bannards. Most of the records I have been able to find are from Northamptonshire. I have, however, recently found a family history completed in March 1914 (Familysearch books) which shows an Edward Barnard ( there are several spellings of the name) " of Downside Co., Somerset, who married Elizabeth Pollard & had three sons". One of these sons, Francis Barnard, " . went to London & settled in Clerkenwell where he married, July 2nd 1580, Elizabeth Dawsett, at St. James. They had four children & from one of these, Thomas Barnard, I have been able to trace my wife's family. I have found sparse records of an Edward Barnard b. ca1500 of Downside, Shepton Mallet who married ca 1524, but no mention of his wife, Elizabeth Pollard, using the old Familysearch. I have been taught to be very cautious with these IGI submitted records & am not prepared to accept them without further proof. I would be very grateful, therefore, if someone could help me find Edward ( which I have been unable to do satisfactorily using Familysearch & Ancestry). We have seen frightening photos of widespread flooding in Somerset & my thoughts are with all those affected by this disaster. Regards Norman
