I gave my reader away years ago because I thought I could get it all on disc or the internet So no point is getting fiche I live too far from any civilisation so no point Thank you anyway Jill
Jill Have you looked at what is available in filmed records from FamilySearch? Bishops Transcripts go back to 1594. If you are not close to a FamilySearch Family History Centre, you will find that many Family History Societies are licensed for films to be sent to for viewing. I have not found living 'down under' to be an insurmountable problem. When you say "too far from any civilization", what do you mean? I use to live in the country, and there is nothing available to search in their libarys. internet is usually very slow. Dial up. Im in a city in Australia, and we only got rid of dial up 4 years ago, and went cable. A lot more expensive, but everyone is happier... Our Goverment is still fighting over the roll out of a national broadban Australia wide. margaret.
