Hi Julie, I had a look for the WILLIS family in the censuses. In 1851, I see that Caroline WILLIS states that she was born circa 1808 at Branscombe, Devon. This is interesting, as I can see only one other CROSS connection to Marston Magna - on 12 Jan 1842, a son, John Legg CROSS, was baptized at Marston Magna to John and Jane CROSS. I tracked them down in the 1851 census by which time they had moved to Yeovil, Somerset; I found that John CROSS senior was born circa 1813, and also from Devon, making me think that he may have been Caroline's brother. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to trace a baptism for Caroline as yet, but I did find a website called the Branscombe Project, and this has a baptism for a John CROSS, bap 30 Jan 1814, Branscombe, son of Samuel and Martha "of Elverway, Dairyman". I think there has to be a very good chance that this is Caroline's brother, and therefore Caroline's parents.
