Bath Abbey does hold some of their own archives and listings of inscriptions: www.bathabbey.org/history/abbey-archives Inscriptions of burials in the Abbey cemetery have been recorded and are held by the Abbey archives and Bath record office. The Abbey cemetery is not in the centre near the Abbey but off Ralph Allen Drive on one of the surrounding hills - but there could also be a memorial stone or inscription inside the Abbey. This page indicates that there were 2 "NEWNHAM" burials (and of course lots of COOPERs): www.widcombeassociation.org.uk/abbeycemeteryprogress.htm Celia ><snip> >Some time between April 1871 and August 1875 Charles Burton >Newenham, sometime Sheriff of South Australia and his wife Mary >Louisa n?e Darley, together with their daughter, Emily Grace, and >her husband, Sir Charles Cooper, sometime Chief Justice of South >Australia, moved to Bath where they lived in Pulteney Street. > >All four of them died in Bath: Mary - 28 March 1880, Sir Charles >? 24 April 1887, Charles ? 18 November 1887, Emily ? 18 October 1906. > >In this context I have three questions: >1. Would there be any way that I could find out where they are buried? >2. Is it possible to find out whether there are any headstones, >memorials etc.? >3. If so, is there a source of photographs of these headstones or memorials? > >Thanking you in anticipation. > >Regards, >Michael
