I am looking for any information on the Ellis family of Mudford. Somerset. In particular the earliest members of the Family. The father was a William Ellis his birth date is unknown. He died Mudford and was buried on the 10th July 1784 at Mudford. His wife was an Eleanor ?? Her birthdate is unknown. She died Mudford and was buried 21st September 1785 at Mudford. They had a son Solomon Ellis. Born Mudford 1756. Christened 11th October 1756. Married a Mary Watts 28th January 1788 He died 25th June 1809 age 52 and was buried 28th June 1809 Mudford. Dave, Have you used batch searching? Look at http://www.archersoftware.co.uk/igi/index.htm Find Mudford under Somerset. That will tell you of earliest available records. Then just click on each batch and search using ELLIS. Peter

Dave, I tried to rush it, and did a botched job. When I saw "Details to be added" for Mudford, I assumed there was no data. But it's a description of the batch that's missing. If you click on the batch number, and search for Ellis you'll find 36 entries, although any without dates are probably duplicates. What's also strange is that it's a combination batch with 9 christenings, 4 marriages and 6 deaths. Thus the "I" prefix. Hope you find something of interest. But if the data's not there ? Peter
