Robert, In a private email to you on 07 January 2013 I wrote " For the time being, my CHICK interest doesn't seem to overlap with your family ". Well, I now see that Rose CHICK's mother was Caroline SPILLER (b.1848) who was a half-sister of my 2g grandfather James VICKERY (b.1822). Caroline wed George CHICK at Combe St Nicholas, the centre of my family history studies, on 21 July 1866. I can't confirm the 1898 Cheltenham marriage details but in the 1891 census the family of George & Caroline Chick, plus many children including Rose, aged 17, was recorded as 33 Gloster Place, Cheltenham! If you ever do get the marriage confirmation, whether by parish record or certificate, I'd be grateful if you would share the details please: thanks. Robert, I think you have a number of choices. a) Buy the marriage certificate online from GRO for 9.75 pounds b) Find the couple with parents in 1891 or 1881 census. 1901 should give ages and birthplaces. c) Check for submitted trees on Ancestry, Mundia or Rootsweb d) Simply Google names in quotation marks.
