It states that George Haine a weaver murdered his wife Mary on the 24 May 1848, they had three children, no names given only ages, one of twelve, the next one and a half, and the other five months. the neighbours were Sarah Randle, Mrs Saint, a woman named Gillingham lived three doors away, Charles Saint, Mary Randle, Eliza Bartlet, a woman named Creek, Samuel Conden a mason, who lived next door on the left- hand side, Ann Saint lived next door on the right hand side, A surgeon named Mr Hansted was called to the house, Dr Nesbit of Yeovil attended the post mortem, Mr Prideaux addressed the Jury, Mr Justice Coleridge summed up the case, George Haine was transported for life.
