I have just made a connection with the MATHLIN family of Wrington,Somerset. In the 1841 Jane MATHLIN born c. 1786 was a widow and mother to Charles, George, Martha, William, James and John residing in Wrington but I have been unable to locate details of her marriage or the name of her husband. I dont have any connection to the MATHLIN family but I do live in Wrington and the cottage opposite us is called Mathlins. It was originally 3 cottages and the garage in the garden was once the village abbatoir. It is on School Road, which was previously called School Lane. If you find any connection let me know and I'll send you a photo! I dont know where abouts you live but Wrington village has a website which you might find interesting www.wrington.org.uk .
