    3. this from the National Archives looks like your man - if it helps WO 97/277/68 JOHN BENDALL alias JOHN BENDLE Born WESTCOMB, Somerset Served in 74th Foot Regiment; 93rd Foot Regiment; 6th Foot Regiment Discharged aged 48 1791-1817 As such he was likely involved in the Peninsula war against Napoleon and in Canada/United States fighting Americans. His military record will not show next of kin though.
